This week in Building Up Jax: a luxury furniture and home decor company opens by The Avenues, we answer another reader question about Mandarin, plus other interesting projects and developments.
Luxury furniture and home décor brand Restoration Hardware opened an RH Outlet location this past week in the former Sports Authority at 9950 Southside Blvd.
The store contains a vast collection of high-end home furnishing items marked down from their original prices. We had a chance to walk around the store yesterday. The furniture is beautiful and elegant, but be prepared to break the bank – many items were well over $1,000.
This marks the company’s sixth location in Florida, and its first in Jacksonville.
Reader Karen G. is back with another question this week – this time, she wanted to know if there were plans for a shopping center around the area of Marbon Rd. and San Jose Blvd. in Mandarin.
The answer: yes! According to Jax Daily Record, the JTA park-and-ride located near that intersection is being purchased by a development company that intends to develop a shopping center on the property. The center will feature two anchor stores, with one potentially being a grocer, and will total over 70,000 square feet of retail space. It will also include a bus stop and a miniature park-and-ride hub.
As always, keep the questions coming! Send us an email at buildingupjax@coastaljax.com and we’ll feature you and your question in the following week’s post.
Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, has added a new brand to its repertoire. According to Jacksonville Business Journal, the first location of Fresco y Mas opened in a former Winn-Dixie in Hialeah, FL.
The store focuses on Hispanic food selections, while maintaining the company’s tradition of low prices.
It’s unknown as of yet what the plans are for the brand’s expansion.
